The Malé Northside Boduthakurufaanu Road Development Project, a key infrastructure pledge of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, remains in the national spotlight as top officials inspected ongoing works under Segment 2 this week.

MTCC Managing Director, DCP (Retd.) Ahmed Saudee, accompanied the Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr Abdulla Muththalib, on an inspection visit to review current progress on the segment, underscoring the government’s priority to accelerate delivery.
President Muizzu has previously stated that Segment 2 will be completed before Ramadan, setting a clear target for the implementation timeline and reinforcing the administration’s commitment to fast-tracking major upgrades in the capital.

The road development project is expected to significantly enhance accessibility in Malé City through the construction of modern, pedestrian-friendly roads. Authorities say widened roadways will help ease congestion, while a new stormwater drainage system is designed to reduce flooding during heavy rainfall, strengthening safety and climate resilience for all road users.
