President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed on Tuesday evening hosted an Iftar for resident High Commissioners, Ambassadors and representatives of international organisations at the President’s Official Residence, Mulee’aage, reaffirming the Maldives’ commitment to strong diplomatic engagement during the holy month of Ramadan.

The dignitaries were warmly received at Mulee’aage, where they extended Ramadan greetings to the President and First Lady. The evening unfolded in a spirit of cordiality, with constructive conversations reflecting the Maldives’ deepening partnerships with the international community.

The annual Iftar, held in line with a longstanding tradition, serves as a platform to strengthen bilateral and multilateral ties through shared cultural and religious observance. By bringing together members of the diplomatic corps during Ramadan, the administration continues to promote goodwill, mutual respect and understanding.

Such engagements form a key pillar of the government’s broader foreign policy outreach, reinforcing cooperation with resident missions and international organisations based in Malé while underscoring the Maldives’ role as a responsible and engaged member of the global community.
