The 16th edition of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR), the nation’s only international road race sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), is scheduled for Friday, 24 October 2025, at Hulhumalé Central Park. Featuring a World Athletics-certified route and recognised on the AIMS World Running Calendar, the event attracts participants from the Maldives and overseas.
Participants can sign up for the Half Marathon, 10 K, 5 K Single, or the new 5 K Corporate Team category (for groups of four from offices or resorts). DMRR continues its longstanding partnership with child protection NGOs, a pillar of Dhiraagu’s CSR efforts. A total cash prize of MVR 256,000 will be awarded across all categories, and special grant funding will support NGO initiatives. Registration is now open for NGOs until 30 June 2025.
Previous editions have made significant impact: the 2024 race raised MVR 680,850 for 12 NGO partners dedicated to child welfare . Dhiraagu also provides a MVR 200,000 grant divided equally among the top five NGOs nominated by runners.
