Rolex, iPhone, Camera Lens Recovered: Male’ Woman Detained in Late-Night Theft Bust

By Ahmed Ashraf Published July 21, 2025

The Criminal Court has ordered a 10-day remand for a 26-year-old Male’ resident arrested in connection with the alleged theft of several high-value items, including a Rolex watch, an iPhone, and a camera lens.

According to the Maldives Police Service, Maisha Mohamed, of Perry Winkle house in Male’, was taken into custody around 3:33 AM on Friday during a police patrol in the capital. Officers intercepted Maisha at the junction of Majeedhee Magu and Fadhiyaaru Magu after observing suspicious behavior near a bench outside City Shoes.

Police stated that Maisha appeared to conceal a black bag and camera lens upon seeing the patrol. When questioned and subsequently searched, officers discovered the bag contained a Rolex watch, an iPhone X, two SanDisk external hard drives, a heat cigarette, a magnetic card holder, four phone chargers, a power bank, and a camera lens—items suspected to be stolen.
