Teen Injured in Sharp-Weapon Attack in Hulhumalé; Two Arrested, Four Detained

Police have arrested two youths and detained four others following a violent altercation involving sharp weapons in Hulhumalé Phase 2. The assault, which took place around 10:00 PM last night, left one teenager injured.

Police confirmed that all individuals involved are minors under the age of 18. The nature of the altercation and the extent of the victim’s injuries have not been disclosed, but police assured that the matter is under active investigation.

The Maldives Police Service has ramped up efforts to determine the circumstances that led to the attack.

The incident has reignited concerns about youth violence in the area, with residents calling for stronger preventive measures and stricter law enforcement. Authorities have pledged to take necessary action to curb such incidents and ensure public safety.

As the case unfolds, police are maintaining a visible presence in the neighborhood, aiming to prevent further disturbances. Meanwhile, the public is advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
