Colombo to Host SATA 2025

The 9th edition of SATA will be held from September 19–20, 2025, at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Sri Lanka. The event will highlight regional collaboration, innovation, and growth, offering a unique platform for networking and recognition within South Asia’s fast-evolving tourism sector.

SATA also benefits from strong regional hospitality partners across Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives, reinforcing its cross-border presence.

The awards are endorsed by leading national tourism bodies including the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), and Visit Maldives, alongside major associations such as MATATO, THASL, and SLAITO.

An esteemed nine-member jury representing diverse expertise across South Asia and beyond carried out this year’s evaluation. Among them were Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed (Maldives – Former CEO & MD, Visit Maldives), Dr. Sachin Bansal (India, Founder of India City Walks), Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir (Bangladesh, CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board), and Mr. Xu Jing (Spain, Former UNWTO Regional Director for Asia & the Pacific).

With its 2025 edition, SATA reaffirms its role as a catalyst for collaboration and excellence in South Asia’s tourism and hospitality industry. More than an awards platform, the initiative fosters long-term partnerships, innovation, and sustainable growth across the region.
