Tourism Media Tycoon Dr. Sunny Accused of Sexually Exploiting Two Girls and a Boy

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 5 hours ago

Tourism media personality Dr. Sunny Umar is now accused of sexually abusing at least three victims from within his in laws’ family. According to sources with direct knowledge, two of the victims are minors, a girl and a boy, while the third is a woman who was also abused when she was under age. The allegations paint an even darker picture of a man long celebrated in the tourism sector.

The accusations surfaced publicly on social media yesterday, triggering intense public outrage. Before authorities could intervene, Dr. Umar boarded Air India flight AI 2240 yesterday morning and fled to New Delhi. His escape has fueled widespread belief that he is attempting to evade justice.

Dr. Sunny is the owner of THE TRAVEL GUYS Pvt Ltd, known for publishing TRAVELUTION, Maldives Halal Travel, and The Island Post, while also operating a travel agency under the Maldives Halal Travel brand. His influence and reputation have now been shattered.

The acts he is accused of fall under the Sexual Offences Act of the Maldives, which criminalises child sexual abuse and carries severe prison sentences. With the number of alleged victims increasing, the urgency for authorities to issue an international alert has intensified.

As more unsettling details come to light, the community demands accountability for a man who marketed Maldives to the world while allegedly exploiting innocent children behind closed doors. The growing case has now turned the once admired Travelution owner into a symbol of disgrace, betrayal, and calculated escape.
