The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), operating under the Visit Maldives brand, is spotlighting the nation’s diverse travel offerings at the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2025. The event, taking place from June 27 to 29 at the China International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Venue), aims to strengthen the Maldives’ position in the Chinese travel market — its largest source market this year.
Located at Stand 6T11, the Maldives’ presence features interactive elements such as photo opportunities, promotional video showcases, and dedicated business meetings with key travel trade professionals. MMPRC is joined by six industry partners: Try Maldives Holidays, Plumeria, Sun Siyam Travels, ICOM Marina Sea View, Diamonds Thudufushi Beach & Water Villas, and Courtyard Maldives. Together, they are promoting a range of experiences, from boutique stays to luxury resort offerings, reflecting the country’s appeal to different traveler segments.
This year, China continues to lead as the Maldives’ top source market. As of June 11, 2025, the Maldives has welcomed 122,088 Chinese tourists, building on a total of 263,340 arrivals from China in 2024.
MMPRC’s participation in BITE 2025 aligns with ongoing efforts to maintain strong momentum in China. Throughout the year, the corporation has launched various targeted campaigns, including large-scale digital promotions, collaborations with major tour operators, and media familiarisation trips. Initiatives such as Visit Maldives Week in China and participation in regional tourism forums are part of a broader strategy to enhance brand visibility and attract more visitors year-round.
With continued engagement in the Chinese market, the Maldives aims to reinforce its reputation as a leading long-haul, all-season destination for Chinese travelers seeking unique experiences in the “Sunny Side of Life”.
