Waste Management Corporation has contributed MVR 100,000 to the “Maldivians with Ceylon” telethon, strengthening the nationwide humanitarian drive supporting flood hit Sri Lanka. The donation was formally handed over to the telethon team by WAMCO MD Mujuthaba Jaleel.
With this latest contribution, total collections have climbed to MVR 2,368,357.18 and USD 38,322.93. Both MVR and USD accounts remain open for ongoing public and corporate donations.
WAMCO’s contribution adds to the growing list of state owned companies, private businesses, and individual donors who have stepped forward as Sri Lanka battles severe flooding, heavy damage, and displacement caused by storm Dithuvaa.
The telethon encourages the public to continue donating through QR scan payments, cash, cheques, bank transfers, and collection boxes placed across Malé, Hulhumalé, and Villimalé.
