The 21st BML Interschool Swimming Competition came to a close today at the Hulhumalé Mini Sports Complex swimming pool, marking the end of six days of spirited competition among young swimmers from across the Maldives.
This year’s tournament brought together 365 students aged between 12 and 18 years, representing 18 schools. The young athletes competed across multiple categories, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, showcasing impressive skill and sportsmanship throughout the event.
The closing ceremony, held this afternoon, honored the top performers with medals and trophies presented to the winning students from each division.
Bank of Maldives (BML), the title sponsor of the event, has been the exclusive partner of the Swimming Association of Maldives since 2016. The bank has consistently provided financial assistance and institutional backing to promote swimming and nurture young athletes across the country.
Demonstrating its continued commitment to youth and sports development, BML has renewed its partnership with the Swimming Association for another three years, ensuring sustained support for upcoming events and initiatives aimed at strengthening the sport.
Over nearly a decade of collaboration, this partnership has become a cornerstone of the Maldives’ swimming development efforts, enabling hundreds of students to participate in competitive sports while fostering teamwork, discipline, and healthy lifestyles.
The 21st edition of the BML Interschool Swimming Competition once again reaffirmed the bank’s long-term dedication to empowering the next generation of Maldivian athletes through meaningful investment in community and sports programs.
