The gathering will bring together heads of major multilateral development banks and top executives from leading financial institutions. Discussions will centre on unlocking large scale private investment to drive sustainable development and accelerate global climate transitions through reinforced international cooperation. The forum is expected to highlight innovative financing models that can support climate vulnerable nations such as the Maldives.

The Sustainable Markets Initiative was founded under the vision and leadership of King Charles III to channel private sector influence toward a greener global economy. The platform convenes chief executives, policymakers and international decision makers to elevate sustainability as a core pillar of economic activity. Its work aims to steer businesses toward long term, environmentally responsible growth that aligns with national climate commitments and the 1.5 degree Celsius pathway.

President Muizzu’s participation signals the Maldives growing engagement in global climate finance diplomacy at a time when new capital flows are essential for resilience, adaptation projects and a secure economic transition.
