Maldives Condemns Bondi Beach Terror Attack, Pledges Solidarity with Australia

By Ahmed Ashraf Published December 15, 2025

The Government of the Republic of Maldives has strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out today at Bondi Beach, Australia, denouncing the violence as a cowardly and heinous act that claimed innocent lives and shocked the international community.

In an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldives expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. The Government also conveyed its wishes for a swift and full recovery to those injured in the attack.

Reaffirming its solidarity with Australia, the Maldives underscored its support for the Australian Government and people during this time of grief. The statement emphasised that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations poses a grave threat to peace, security, and shared human values, and must be confronted collectively by the global community.

The Maldivian Government further reiterated its unwavering commitment to the international fight against terrorism, stressing that such acts of violence have no place in any society and can never be justified under any circumstance.

The condemnation aligns with Maldives’ longstanding foreign policy position of supporting global efforts to promote peace, stability, and cooperation, while standing in unity with nations affected by acts of terror.
