Government Offices to Resume Work on Monday After Eid Holidays

By Hussain Shinan Published 14 hours ago

Government offices across the Maldives are set to resume operations on Monday, the 23rd, following the conclusion of the Eid al-Fitr holidays.

According to official policy, working hours for public sector institutions during the first week after Eid will be temporarily reduced. As in previous years, office hours during the first seven days of the Islamic month of Shawwal will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The arrangement follows a policy introduced in 1443 AH, which provides for shorter working hours immediately after Eid to ease the transition back to routine work following the festive period.

As a result, government offices will operate on the reduced schedule throughout the upcoming week before returning to regular working hours thereafter.

Authorities have maintained this approach in recent years as part of efforts to balance workplace productivity with the social and family-oriented nature of the Eid period.
