President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Officer Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad on Tuesday, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expand the longstanding development partnership between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
Al-Marshad paid a courtesy call on the President at Mulee’aage, where discussions focused on the SFD’s decades-long contribution to development projects across the Maldives and opportunities to strengthen future cooperation.
President Muizzu welcomed Al-Marshad and his delegation and thanked the Saudi Fund for Development and the Government of Saudi Arabia for their continued assistance to the Maldives throughout the country’s development journey.
During the meeting, Al-Marshad highlighted the strategic partnership between the SFD and the Maldives, stressing the Fund’s priority in further strengthening a relationship built over several decades.
The meeting concluded with both sides reflecting on the SFD’s longstanding development footprint in the Maldives and expressing their shared determination to broaden ongoing cooperation.
