Bank of Maldives (BML) has strengthened its nationwide banking network by opening seven new branches across the country, bringing its total number of branches to 55.
The new branches were officially inaugurated on Wednesday morning by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. They are located in HA. Hoarafushi, Sh. Kanditheemu, R. Alifushi, Lh. Hinnavaru, ADh. Maamigili, L. Maavah and GA. Gemanafushi.
With the latest expansion, BML now operates branches across all 20 atolls. The bank noted that it has opened 17 branches over the past two years as part of its continued investment in improving access to banking services nationwide.

Speaking at the inauguration, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said the bank reinvests its growth to expand its reach and strengthen its presence in communities throughout the Maldives.
“Our strong financial performance allows us to continue investing in our nationwide network, bringing banking services closer to every Maldivian and ensuring that individuals and businesses across the country have convenient access to the financial services they need to grow and thrive,” he said.
BML remains the country’s largest financial institution, with a network of 55 branches, 340 self-service ATMs serving every inhabited island, and digital banking services that provide customers with access to banking nationwide.
