The couple found dead inside Kureynge near the tourism zone in Hithadhoo, Addu City are believed to have died from electrocution, according to residents familiar with the incident.

Sources from the island said the bodies were discovered in the bathroom of their newly built home after neighbors went to check on them, as they had not been seen or heard from since moving in. When found, both individuals were lying close together, and equipment discovered at the scene suggested they had been attempting to carry out electrical work.

The deceased have been identified as Ibrahim Abdulla, 60, from Kureynge, S. Hithadhoo, and Farahnaaz Rasheed, 52, from Nares, S. Maradhoo. Their bodies were transported to Addu Equatorial Hospital, where doctors confirmed their deaths.
