Global Ducan Brings Indian E-Commerce to Maldivian Doorsteps

By Hussain Shinan Published 3 hours ago

Maldivians can now shop directly from India’s leading online marketplaces and have their orders delivered nationwide, following the launch of “Global Ducan” by the Maldives Post Limited in partnership with India Post.

The newly introduced platform connects users to major Indian e-commerce sites, including Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Nykaa Fashion and IKEA, offering access to a broad range of goods — from clothing and gadgets to home essentials and beauty products.

Unlike traditional cross-border shopping, the service eliminates the need for a local Indian delivery address. Instead, customers can browse multiple stores within a single interface, add products to one cart and complete their purchase in a unified checkout.

Officials say the platform has been designed to simplify the entire shopping journey, allowing users to move between different online stores without separate logins while providing transparent pricing before payment is confirmed.

Global Ducan is available both as a mobile application and through a dedicated website. After registering, users can select their preferred marketplace within the platform, place orders and have items delivered anywhere in the Maldives through Maldives Post’s logistics network.

The service has already begun attracting interest among local consumers, reflecting a growing appetite for more convenient access to international products. With categories spanning lifestyle goods, electronics, kitchenware and wellness items, the platform aims to meet a wide range of consumer needs.

For assistance, customers can contact Maldives Post via its call centre or use the messaging feature available on its official website.

Officials say the initiative marks a significant step in expanding digital commerce opportunities in the Maldives, strengthening logistics capabilities while offering consumers a more seamless way to shop beyond borders.
