President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu was present at the signing ceremony for a significant infrastructure development project in K. Gulhifalhu, held this morning at the President’s Office. This initiative is the culmination of a collaborative agreement between the Maldives and China, established during President Muizzu’s inaugural visit to China.
The comprehensive project aims to modernize Gulhifalhu by establishing an electricity distribution network, water and sewerage systems, a dewatering system, upgraded roadways, a Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network (GPON) duct system, and gas storage and distribution centers.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, on behalf of the Maldivian government, and Qian Haojun, Regional General Manager of China Machinery Engineering Corporation, representing the Chinese side.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Minister Muththalib highlighted that this project is a strategic move to alleviate congestion in the Greater Malé area, underlining the government’s commitment to nationwide development.
