Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has secured four prestigious national honours at the Engineers’ Award 2026, including the coveted Engineer of the Year title awarded to Dr Furugaan Ibrahim.
MWSC and its team received recognition across four categories:
- Engineer of the Year: Dr Furugaan Ibrahim
- Engineering Innovation, Technology, Education and Research Award: Dr Furugaan Ibrahim
- Sustainability Champion Award
- Community Impact Award
The honours mark a major achievement for MWSC, recognising the company’s contribution to engineering, sustainability, innovation and community development in the Maldives.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu presented the Engineer of the Year Award during the ceremony held at Barceló Nasandhura.
The Government introduced the national engineering awards to recognise engineers and organisations making significant contributions to national development and the advancement of the engineering profession.
