Ooredoo Makes Everyday Services Easier with New Avas Express Shop

By Hussain Shinan Published 2 hours ago

Ooredoo Maldives has strengthened its retail network with the launch of a new Ooredoo Express Shop by Avas, giving customers in Malé City another convenient location to access the telecom operator’s most commonly used services.

The new outlet officially opened on 4 August, with the inauguration led by Ooredoo Maldives Managing Director and CEO Shadi Qawasmi and Avas Enterprises Managing Director Mohamed Yaniu Rameez.

The launch marks the latest collaboration between Ooredoo and Avas as the two companies seek to make digital and in-person services more accessible to customers.

Through the partnership, customers can now carry out a range of Ooredoo transactions at the new Express Shop as well as through the Avas App. Available services include bill payments, the purchase of Raastas and new SIM cards, offering customers greater flexibility in how they manage their mobile services.

Ooredoo said the Express Shop is part of its wider effort to improve customer accessibility by expanding service channels beyond its traditional retail outlets.

Commenting on the initiative, Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz said the company continues to look for new ways to make everyday services more convenient.

“Our partnership with Avas brings together the convenience of digital services through the Avas App and personalised support at the new Express Shop. This gives customers more flexibility while helping us bring essential connectivity services closer to the communities we serve,” he said.

The company added that expanding customer touchpoints through strategic partnerships remains an important part of its vision of building a Digital Maldives, ensuring users can access services quickly and conveniently regardless of where they are.

As one of the Maldives’ leading telecommunications providers, Ooredoo has continued to invest in expanding both its digital platforms and physical service network, enabling customers to access mobile, broadband and financial services through a variety of channels.
