Ooredoo Maldives has signed on as the Digital Partner of the Maldives Half Marathon, supporting the upcoming running event through its connectivity and digital services.
The Maldives Half Marathon is scheduled to take place in Hulhumalé on August 14, bringing together runners and fitness enthusiasts for an event centred around endurance, wellbeing and community participation.
Under the partnership, Ooredoo will provide digital and connectivity support aimed at enhancing the experience for runners, organisers and spectators during the event.
Ooredoo employees will also be taking part in the Half Marathon through Team Ooredoo, joining other participants on the course in Hulhumalé.
The company said the participation of its employees reflects its efforts to promote active lifestyles within its workforce while maintaining a direct presence in community events it supports.
The latest partnership adds to Ooredoo Maldives’ involvement in sporting and community initiatives across the country.
Over the years, the telecommunications provider has supported activities ranging from running and football to esports and community programmes held across different islands, using sports as a platform to encourage participation and bring people together.
The partnership also comes as Ooredoo marks 21 years of operations in the Maldives.
During that period, the company has expanded beyond conventional telecommunications services, with increasing emphasis on digital platforms, technology-driven services and connectivity solutions.
Ooredoo said its involvement with the Maldives Half Marathon forms part of its broader vision of contributing towards a more connected and inclusive “Digital Maldives”, while using technology to support experiences beyond traditional telecommunications.
With the event taking place on Friday, Team Ooredoo will join the wider running community in Hulhumalé as participants take to the course for this year’s Maldives Half Marathon.
