Ooredoo to Showcase PayPal Integration at Maldives Financial Expo

By Hussain Shinan Published 8 hours ago

Ooredoo Maldives has partnered with the Maldives Financial Expo 2026, where the telecommunications provider will highlight its growing range of digital financial services, including its recently launched PayPal integration through mFaisaa.

The three-day exhibition, organised by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), will be held at Central Park in Hulhumalé from July 2 to July 4, welcoming visitors daily from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Bringing together banks, financial institutions, fintech companies and other stakeholders, the expo aims to promote financial literacy, innovation and greater financial inclusion across the Maldives.

As part of its participation, Ooredoo Fintech will demonstrate its expanding digital payments ecosystem, with particular focus on the integration between PayPal and mFaisaa. The recently launched service allows eligible users to receive US dollar payments from PayPal directly into their mFaisaa wallets, opening new opportunities for freelancers, entrepreneurs, content creators, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and online businesses serving international clients.

The launch of PayPal services in the Maldives has been widely regarded as a significant step forward for the country’s digital economy, providing local businesses and professionals with easier access to global payment networks.

Ooredoo’s Head of Fintech, Ahmed Numan, will also participate in a panel discussion during the expo, where industry experts will explore the future of digital payments and financial innovation. The session is expected to examine how emerging financial technologies can improve financial inclusion and help Maldivian businesses connect with international markets.

Throughout the event, Ooredoo will host an interactive booth where visitors can learn more about mFaisaa, digital payment solutions and the company’s latest fintech initiatives.

The company said it hopes the exhibition will encourage more individuals and businesses to embrace digital financial services while demonstrating how technology can simplify payments and expand economic opportunities throughout the Maldives.
