President Muizzu extended congratulations not only to the graduates, but also to their parents, instructors, personnel of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), and staff of the Ministry of Defence involved in conducting the programme.

The National Service Technical Training programme is designed for students who complete the initial phase of the broader National Service Programme and wish to continue specialized technical training.

According to the government, the students in this cohort were selected from among participants who completed the first phase of the National Service Programme on December 28, 2025, and later expressed interest in pursuing technical education.

The four-month training programme began on January 15 this year and was conducted at the MNDF School of Engineering and Logistics in B. Kihaadhoo.

President Muizzu also announced that the second batch of the programme, consisting of 75 additional young participants, is scheduled to commence training on the first day of next month.

The National Service Programme remains one of the government’s major youth-focused initiatives aimed at developing disciplined, resilient and socially responsible citizens.

According to the administration, the programme seeks to prepare young Maldivians for the workforce while promoting patriotism, mental resilience and spiritual wellbeing.
