President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his condolences to the family of Aminath Imili Nazim, the young Maldivian student who died following a road accident in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In a message posted on X following news of the 22-year-old’s death, President Muizzu expressed his sympathies to Imili’s family and loved ones.
The President prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Imili His abundant mercy and bless her with eternal Paradise.
Imili died after being involved in a road accident in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday night.
According to information available following the incident, Imili and another Maldivian female student were travelling in a Grab taxi when the vehicle was involved in the accident.
Imili is reported to have sustained severe head injuries in the crash.
The second Maldivian student travelling in the vehicle survived the accident and her condition is reported to be non-critical.
Further details surrounding the circumstances of the crash have yet to be officially disclosed.
News of Imili’s death has prompted an outpouring of condolences, with members of the public expressing their sympathies to her family and friends.
Malaysia remains a major overseas education destination for Maldivian students, with young Maldivians pursuing university and professional qualifications at institutions across the country.
