The State Electric Company (STELCO) has paid tribute to one of its longest-serving employees, Mohamed Ibrahim, who retired after dedicating more than 37 years of service to the company.
Mohamed, who served STELCO for 37 years and seven months, concluded his lengthy career while holding the position of Service Manager at the company’s Inventory Management Unit.
Although he was unable to attend STELCO’s official retirement ceremony due to health reasons, the company ensured that his decades of service did not go unrecognized.
STELCO Managing Director Dr. Ali Azuwar, accompanied by the company’s Deputy Managing Directors, visited Mohamed at his residence to personally express their appreciation and gratitude for his longstanding commitment and contributions to the organization.
During the visit, senior management acknowledged Mohamed’s dedication and faithful service throughout nearly four decades, highlighting the important role he played in supporting the company’s operations over the years.

STELCO said the gesture reflected the company’s appreciation for employees who have devoted significant portions of their professional lives to serving the institution and the nation.
Employee recognition has long been a key aspect of STELCO’s corporate culture, with the utility company regularly honoring staff members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and service.
As the country’s main electricity provider, STELCO employs hundreds of staff across the Maldives, many of whom have served the company for several decades.
The company noted that experienced employees such as Mohamed have played a vital role in the growth and development of STELCO, helping transform it into one of the Maldives’ largest state-owned enterprises.
Mohamed’s retirement marks the end of an extensive career spanning almost four decades, during which he contributed significantly to the company’s inventory management and operational functions.
STELCO extended its best wishes to Mohamed and his family, expressing hope for his good health and wellbeing in retirement.
