In a gesture of goodwill and partnership, the Government of India has gifted a 14-seater van to Maldives Immigration to strengthen the institution’s operational capacity.
The vehicle was formally handed over by the High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, H.E. Shri Gopal Baglay, to the Controller General of Immigration, CP (Retd) Ahmed Faseeh, at a ceremony held this week.
Maldives Immigration expressed gratitude for the contribution, describing it as a valuable addition that will support service delivery and enhance day-to-day functions. “We extend our sincere appreciation for this generous gift from the people and Government of India,” the authority stated.
The donation underscores the close cooperation between Maldives and India, particularly in institutional support and capacity building. Over the years, India has remained a key development partner, providing assistance across areas ranging from infrastructure and health to security and governance.
This latest contribution reflects the enduring spirit of friendship between the two nations, reinforcing the shared commitment to strengthen ties and improve public service delivery in the Maldives.
