Dhiraagu Gamers Guild Launches Season 2, Eyes International E-Sports Expansion

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 15 hours ago

Dhiraagu Gamers Guild, the largest organised gaming community in the Maldives, has officially launched its second season, unveiling an ambitious calendar of tournaments, community initiatives, and platform upgrades aimed at accelerating the growth of e-sports nationwide.

The Season 2 Opening Event was held on 31 January 2026 at the Dhiraagu Head Office, bringing together gamers, partners, and stakeholders for an interactive evening that marked the start of a new competitive year. The launch featured hands-on gaming activities, refreshments, and a live performance by local band Fenfulhi, setting an energetic tone for the season ahead.

During the event, the Guild reflected on a strong performance in 2025, a year that cemented its position at the centre of the country’s gaming ecosystem. Over the year, the platform expanded its community to more than 11,000 registered gamers, distributed MVR 350,000 in tournament prize pools, and awarded over MVR 150,000 worth of giveaways. The Guild also successfully organised 17 tournaments across 13 gaming titles, culminating in the landmark Dhiraagu Maldives Gaming Conquest held in August, the largest gaming event of its kind ever hosted in the Maldives.

Looking ahead, Season 2 signals a shift towards deeper engagement and broader reach. In 2026, Dhiraagu Gamers Guild plans to introduce more community-driven tournaments, expand activities beyond traditional competitive formats, and host its first international online tournament, a milestone that will connect Maldivian gamers with regional and global competition.

The event further recognised the role of strategic partners in driving the growth of e-gaming in the Maldives. DGG acknowledged its Premium Sponsor, MINISO, alongside Elite Partners Villa Mart, MegaChip, and Sheesha, for their continued support in empowering gamers and strengthening the national e-sports ecosystem.

Building on its status as the country’s biggest gaming platform, Dhiraagu Gamers Guild reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing local talent and setting new benchmarks in competitive gaming, aligning with Dhiraagu’s broader vision to elevate Maldivian digital communities to the next level.

Further updates and announcements on Season 2 activities will be published on dgg.mv.
