The President also underscored the government’s pledge to uphold press freedom, workers’ rights, and gender equality while advancing environmental sustainability to secure a better future for generations to come.

This year’s Human Rights Day theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” serves as a call to action to prioritize human rights in addressing global challenges and building a just future.

The Maldives has consistently highlighted its commitment to human rights on both domestic and international platforms, aligning its policies and actions with these principles to strengthen democracy and societal well-being.
