Two men have been arrested in connection with a drug-related operation conducted on August 3 in Ha. Baarah, following intelligence gathered by the Counter Narcotics unit.
The operation was jointly carried out by officers from the Baarah Police Station and Counter Narcotics Intelligence, acting on credible information about the import, trade, and consumption of illegal drugs on the island. During the operation, a targeted search of a local residence uncovered substances suspected to be narcotics, with a preliminary weight of 5.96 grams.
The individuals arrested in the case have been identified as Abdulla Faseeh, 37, and Ibrahim Kaleem, 34 — both residents of Carnation View in Ha. Baarah.
Upon being presented before the court, authorities ordered Faseeh to be remanded in custody for 15 days, while Kaleem was handed a 5-day detention order pending further investigation.
Police have confirmed that the case remains under active investigation as efforts continue to dismantle networks involved in drug trafficking within island communities.
