Addressing residents of Kamadhoo during his ongoing four-day tour of Baa Atoll, President Muizzu said the island had long been overlooked and stressed his determination to reverse that neglect. He assured the community that his government would adopt a citizen-focused model, delivering tangible improvements in health, education, and sports. As part of this commitment, he confirmed that work on the island’s football grounds would proceed without delay.

The President also voiced strong support for incorporating public feedback into Kamadhoo’s road construction plans, pledged to resolve the island’s land erosion issues, and confirmed harbour construction as a key priority.

Marking a major step forward, two landmark agreements were signed during the visit. Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu and Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel signed an agreement to construct a modern school facility, addressing both resource and space needs. In a separate agreement, Maldivian Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas and Hawks Hotels Director Hussain Aman formalized plans to launch seaplane services to Kamadhoo—an initiative set to expand accessibility and boost the island’s thriving tourism sector.

President Muizzu emphasised that these projects represent more than infrastructure—they symbolise his administration’s unwavering dedication to equitable development. “Every Maldivian deserves to see real progress in their community” he said.

The President’s Baa Atoll tour, which began Monday, will cover 13 inhabited islands, accompanied by senior Cabinet ministers and key government agency heads, underscoring his direct engagement with citizens and his commitment to delivering results across the nation.
