Corporate Maldives Kicks Off Bizweek with High-Profile CEO Summit

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 23 hours ago

Corporate Maldives today inaugurated its first-ever Bizweek at JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri‑La, starting with an exclusive CEO Summit aimed at shaping a more resilient national economy.

The invitation‑only summit convened a panel of public and private sector heavyweights, including Minister Dr. Abdulla Muththalib (Construction, Housing & Infrastructure), Dhiraagu CEO Ismail Rasheed, First National’s Mariyam Visam, Ooredoo Maldives CEO Khalid Al‑Hamadi, and Bank of Maldives’ Moosa Nimal. Drawing on their expertise, the group examined critical economic pillars—from energy, food security, and healthcare to tourism diversification, finance, urban development, education, and governance—culminating in collaborative roundtable sessions and practical policy recommendations.

In tandem with the summit, Corporate Maldives rolled out its revamped digital presence: a mobile app and updated website designed to improve access to business intelligence and sector networking tools nationwide.

Bizweek continues tomorrow, 19 June, with an all-day series of curated one-on-one meetings at the Meeruma Conference Facility, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Registered participants will engage directly with clients, investors, and collaborators to foster strategic alliances and elevate the visibility of local businesses.

Positioned as an annual platform, Bizweek sets a precedent for sustained dialogue and cooperation within the Maldivian business community. Following the successful launch of today’s CEO Summit, organisers expect the week-long programme to produce tangible benefits for attendees and contribute to long-term economic resilience.

According to organisers, Bizweek 2025 features over 5,000 pre-arranged meetings across two days, reinforcing its status as the country’s premier B2B event . The gathering also includes product launches and sector seminars during networking sessions.
