Dhiraagu wraps up DESCUP 2025 with record participation and new champions

By Ahmed Ashraf Published September 5, 2025

Dhiraagu has successfully concluded its 19th annual futsal tournament, DESCUP 2025, celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and employee wellbeing across the company.

The tournament, a flagship internal sporting event, drew remarkable participation this year with 20 teams and 321 employees competing from various parts of the country. The competition was divided into three leagues, each producing new champions after weeks of intense matches.

In the CEO & MD’s Cup, DSS United emerged victorious and went on to claim the Premier League title after a hard-fought final against Finanzes. The Super League title was secured by CNFC, who edged out ROC United in a closely contested match. Meanwhile, the Women’s Fiesta, dedicated to female employees, saw Team Hiyala crowned champions following a spirited game against Technology Kanbalun.

Beyond the competitive edge, DESCUP underscores Dhiraagu’s wider commitment to employee engagement and wellness. The initiative is supported by Dhiraagu eClub, an internal platform designed to foster opportunities for staff to take part in sports and recreational activities outside of their professional roles.

The event’s success reaffirms Dhiraagu’s long-standing focus on building a collaborative and motivated workforce while encouraging a healthy balance between work and recreation.

The DESCUP 2025 concluded on September 3, with champions officially recognized in a closing ceremony held in Malé.
