First National Corporation, a prominent fund management and advisory services firm, has announced the appointment of Mariyam Visam as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). The decision was finalized by the company’s board on Sunday.
In her capacity as CCO, Visam will be responsible for crafting and implementing business strategies, overseeing product development, and managing the company’s sales and marketing initiatives.
Visam brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She previously served as the Registrar of Companies at the Ministry of Economic Development, a position she held for 11 years before resigning on March 1. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from the University of Northumbria, UK, and a Master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia.
Beyond her tenure as Registrar, Visam has contributed to the financial sector through her roles on the boards of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) and the Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO). She continues to serve as a board member of the Maldives International Financial Services Authority.
Visam’s extensive background in corporate governance, regulatory frameworks, and economic development positions her well to drive First National Corporation’s commercial objectives forward.
