Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has advised all departing international passengers to arrive at Velana International Airport (VIA) at least three hours before their scheduled departure to ensure a smooth travel experience during the busy travel period.
In a passenger advisory issued today, MACL said arriving early would provide sufficient time to complete check-in, security screening, and immigration procedures before boarding.
The airport operator also urged passengers to complete all destination-specific travel requirements before arriving at the airport. These include immigration formalities, Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) approvals where required, and any mandatory health declaration forms.
According to MACL, completing these requirements in advance will help passengers avoid last-minute delays during the departure process.
The company thanked travellers for their cooperation and understanding, stating that the advisory is intended to ease congestion and ensure efficient passenger processing during the peak travel season.
Passengers are also encouraged to check the latest entry requirements for their destination with their airline or the relevant authorities before travelling.
