Maldives police restore 119 emergency line after brief outage

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 14 hours ago

Emergency services have been fully restored after a temporary outage disrupted key police hotlines earlier today, the Maldives Police Service confirmed.

In an update issued shortly after the disruption, police said the technical issue affecting the 119 emergency line and hotline 3322111 has now been resolved, with both lines back in operation.

Authorities assured the public that normal services have resumed and emergency calls can once again be made through the primary contact numbers.

The brief outage had forced police to activate an alternative number for urgent assistance, raising concerns over access to emergency response during the disruption.

Police thanked the public for their patience, as the incident highlighted the critical importance of uninterrupted communication channels during emergencies.
