Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has opened a public consultation as preparations begin for the development of a fishing platform at West Park in Malé.
The company is seeking views from members of the public on the proposed West Park Fishing Platform before moving ahead with the development.
MTCC said the consultation is intended to gather opinions and suggestions from people who may use the facility, allowing public feedback to be considered as preparations for the project progress.
The survey opened on August 18 and will remain available until August 31, giving the public around two weeks to submit their views.

Questionnaires have been made available in both Dhivehi and English.
The planned facility comes as designated fishing areas continue to play an important recreational and social role in the capital, particularly for residents who fish from the shoreline.
West Park, located on the western side of Malé, is already a popular waterfront area used for recreation, fishing and other outdoor activities.
A dedicated fishing platform could provide a more organised space for the activity, while separating fishing areas from other uses of the waterfront. Further details on the design, size, facilities and construction timeline of the proposed platform have not yet been announced.
MTCC’s decision to seek public feedback at the preparatory stage provides users of the area with an opportunity to raise their priorities before the project moves forward.
The company has encouraged members of the public to take part in the questionnaire and share their views on the development.
The consultation will close on August 31.
