MWSC Introduces Payment Relief for Customers

By Hussain Shinan Published April 22, 2026

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has announced a new initiative to waive fines on overdue water bills, offering relief to both households and businesses with outstanding payments.

The company said the decision forms part of its continued efforts to provide more flexible and convenient payment options for customers. Under the scheme, fines accumulated on domestic and commercial bills up to December 31, 2025, will be eligible for removal.

To benefit from the waiver, customers are required to settle the full outstanding principal amount of their bills within the period running from this month until December 31, 2026.

MWSC also confirmed that customers who are unable to make a full payment can opt for a monthly installment plan. In such cases, the accumulated fines will be cleared once the agreed payments are completed in full.

The utility provider has made several support channels available for customers seeking assistance. These include its Customer Care hotline at 105, SMS services via 1050, and email support through [email protected].

MWSC urged customers with long-pending bills to take advantage of the opportunity, while also encouraging timely payments in the future to avoid the accumulation of penalties.
