At approximately 11:35 PM, two assailants on a motorcycle attacked a man near the western side of Rehendhi Turf Ground on Boaganvilla Magu in Hulhumalé. The victim, who was reportedly sitting on a motorcycle at the time, was assaulted with an axe. He received treatment at Hulhumalé Hospital and has since been discharged.

The suspects, identified as Rustham Ibrahim, 25, from GDh. Fiyori, and Saifullah Faisal, 19, from B. Goidhoo, were apprehended on the Sinamalé Highway while attempting to flee to Malé. Police recovered an axe and a knife from the area where the suspects were stopped.

The Maldives Police Service has stated that investigations into both cases are ongoing. Police urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local law enforcement agencies.

These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about public safety in the Maldives. Authorities are committed to ensuring public safety and bringing those responsible to justice.
