Police Offers Cash Transfer Protection, Hotline 9499314 Ready for Requests

By Ahmed Ashraf Published October 27, 2025

The Maldives Police Service is calling on companies and private individuals to strengthen their cash handling operations by using the Installation Security Department’s official Cash in Transit protection service. The service is designed to safeguard financial movements across Malé, reducing the risk of theft, assault, and financial loss.

According to the Police Installation Security Department, trained officers are available to escort and supervise cash transfers for banks, shops, resorts, fuel stations, and other businesses that routinely move currency between locations. Private individuals handling large amounts of cash are also eligible for the service.

Police strongly encourage anyone planning a cash transfer within Malé to contact the department in advance. Requests can be made through the official hotline: 9499314.

This initiative aims to support the business community and prevent crimes targeting financial operations in the capital. Police stress that coordination with officers before transporting money significantly increases security and deters criminal activity.

Businesses and individuals are advised to plan responsibly, avoid risky solo transfers, and make use of the professional protection available to the public.
