The President’s Office has confirmed that Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises Moosa Zameer has resigned from his post.
Over the phone on Monday, the President’s Office spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef confirmed that President had accepted Zameer’s resignation. However, he did not disclose the reason for his departure.
Zameer’s resignation comes as he was overseeing key economic and fiscal initiatives, including government efforts to strengthen public finances, manage external debt obligations, and implement ongoing economic reforms.
The President’s Office has not yet announced who will assume the finance portfolio following Zameer’s departure.
