President Muizzu Awards Pioneers Deepening Economic and Diplomatic Ties with Singapore

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has presented special recognition awards to a distinguished group of individuals and organisations for their exceptional contributions to enhancing cooperation and deepening ties between the Maldives and Singapore. The ceremony took place this morning at the Maldives–Singapore Business Forum 2025, held in Singapore, and was attended by senior officials, business leaders, and stakeholders from both nations.

A total of seventeen individuals were honoured for their remarkable efforts in supporting the Maldives’ progress and strengthening bilateral relations. The individual recipients are:

  • Late Mr Ali Umar Manik
  • Late Hussain Abdulla (Maroshi Hussain Kaleygefaanu)
  • Late D. Ahmed Didi
  • Late Mohamed Adam Manik (Saran’gu Mohamed Kaleygefaanu)
  • Mohamed Waheed Deen
  • Hassan Zahir
  • Ismail Hilmy
  • Late Dhidhdhoo Ibrahim Kaleygefaanu
  • Late Adam Shukree
  • Late Mohamed Yoosuf (Kuva Mohamed Yoosuf)
  • Mohamed Salih
  • Ali Ahmed (Minaagey Kuda Thuththu)
  • Mallaa Ahmed Nasir
  • Mohamed Shahdy Anwar
  • Mohamed Ali Janah
  • Shuaib M. Shah
  • Kenneth Pereira

In addition, twenty leading organisations were recognised for their vital roles in strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the Maldives and Singapore. The corporate recipients are:

President Muizzu emphasised that these recognition awards highlight the dedication, vision, and collaborative spirit of those who have significantly contributed to the Maldives’ development journey and to building a strong, forward-looking partnership with Singapore. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to nurturing such collaborations, aligned with his vision to position the Maldives as a thriving regional hub for investment, trade, and sustainable growth.
