By Ahmed Ashraf Published 23 hours ago

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has called on voters to elect representatives who will fully cooperate with his administration at island, city, and local council levels, warning that strong political alignment is essential to sustain the country’s fast-moving development agenda ahead of the upcoming council elections.

Speaking to a large gathering of supporters at the opening of the People’s National Congress office at H. Veyovela on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, opposite the artificial beach, the President said electing PNC candidates was crucial to delivering on the promises made to the people.

He expressed confidence that candidates contesting under the PNC banner would provide unwavering support at constituency and city levels, enabling the smooth implementation of ongoing infrastructure projects, newly launched initiatives, and planned budgetary programmes.

According to the President, full cooperation from local councils is vital at a time when development works are progressing at an accelerated pace across the country. He stressed that aligned leadership at grassroots levels would ensure efficiency, continuity, and timely delivery of public services and national projects.

Calling on citizens to rally behind the government’s vision, President Muizzu appealed for public support in the forthcoming council elections, framing the vote as a decisive step in safeguarding momentum and ensuring that development priorities translate into tangible benefits for communities nationwide.
