Shocking CCTV Timeline Reveals What Really Happened the Night Yumnu Fell

The Maldives Police Service has released a detailed timeline of events leading up to the fall of 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed from the ninth floor of H. Fentenoy in Male’ on April 18, 2025. The disclosure aims to address public concerns and ensure transparency in the ongoing investigation.

Timeline of Events:

  • 12:30 AM: Yumnu and eight others, including Raudh Ahmed Zilal, gather at Ma. Maandhooge Dhekunuge, a residence linked to Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen.
  • 3:40 AM: Four individuals, including Yumnu and Raudh, leave the residence.
  • 4:00 AM: The group arrives at a second location on Ameenee Magu, staying for approximately 10 minutes.
  • 4:10 AM: Yumnu and Raudh depart the second location together.
  • 4:15 AM: The pair enters H. Fentenoy, a building with no known connection to either individual.
  • 4:20 AM: CCTV footage captures Yumnu and Raudh engaging in intimate behavior on the seventh floor stairwell.
  • 4:30 AM: The duo attempts to access the building’s terrace but finds it locked.
  • 4:35 AM: They move between the eighth and ninth floors.
  • 4:52 AM: A loud noise is heard; Raudh is seen reacting and searching for Yumnu.
  • 7:23 AM: A passerby reports finding Yumnu injured on a rooftop; emergency services respond.

Investigation Findings:

Police Commissioner Ali Shujau stated that preliminary investigations suggest Yumnu fell through a skylight on the ninth floor. Both individuals tested positive for narcotics.

Travel bans have been imposed on all individuals present that night, and a court warrant has been sought for Raudh’s arrest due to non-cooperation.

Public Response:

The incident has sparked public outcry and protests, with citizens demanding justice and transparency. In response, Commissioner Shujau emphasized the police’s commitment to conducting an unbiased and thorough investigation, stating that public confidence is paramount and can only be achieved through diligent and impartial work.
