STELCO celebrated in style after being crowned champions of the Club Maldives Milo Kings Cup 2026, securing the first major title of this year’s Club Maldives futsal season.
The utility company lifted the trophy following an impressive 7-4 victory over reigning Sector League champions Club Hawks in a thrilling final played at the Rehendhi Futsal Pitch in Hulhumalé.
The high-scoring encounter saw STELCO produce a commanding attacking display to overcome one of the tournament’s strongest sides and claim the season-opening championship.
STELCO’s path to the title was far from straightforward. The team booked its place in the final after surviving a tense semi-final clash against tournament newcomers Cora Cora Maldives.
After the match ended in a 2-2 draw at the conclusion of regular time, STELCO edged past their opponents 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout to secure a place in the championship match.
In addition to winning the tournament, STELCO also dominated the individual honours handed out at the end of the competition.
Three STELCO players — Shuaid Saeed, Adham Ahmed and Ibrahim Rimah — were named among the tournament’s top five performers, underlining the team’s impressive campaign.
Rimah, who played a pivotal role throughout the tournament, received further recognition after being named the best player in the final. He was awarded both the “Final Match King” title and the prestigious “Sultan of Futsal” award.
Meanwhile, STELCO head coach Usman Naseer was recognised for his leadership and tactical approach, receiving the “Master of Futsal” award as the tournament’s best coach.
The company held a special ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the achievement, with officials attributing the triumph to the players’ dedication, teamwork and hard work throughout the competition.

STELCO has long established itself as one of the strongest teams in the country’s corporate futsal scene. The team has previously enjoyed success in the Office League, including winning the prestigious Golden Crown title.
The Club Maldives Milo Kings Cup serves as the curtain-raiser for the annual Club Maldives futsal calendar and features teams representing resorts, state-owned enterprises and private companies from across the country.

With the opening title now secured, STELCO will be aiming to carry their momentum into the remainder of the futsal season as they seek to add more silverware to their growing collection.
