Two Maldivians Detained for Drug Smuggling via Ingestion

Police have apprehended two Maldivian nationals suspected of attempting to smuggle drugs by ingesting them. The individuals in custody are identified as Ihsaan Ishag, 33, from Peacock, N. Manadhoo, and Mohamed Farish, 40, from M. Seybu, K. Malé.

Currently under medical care at Dhoonidhoo Medical Facility, both suspects remain detained following a court order. They have been remanded for five days, with a stipulation that they must be presented in court within 24 hours should their medical situation change.

The detention order reveals that medical scans detected foreign objects within their bodies, necessitating their continued hospitalization.
