Bank of Maldives (BML) has recognized its top-performing employees at its annual Staff Awards, highlighting a year of record achievements and strong institutional growth driven by its workforce.
At the ceremony held on March 27, the bank awarded its highest honor, Employee of the Year, to Misbah Abdul Rasheed, Head of Business Systems in the Technology Division. The recognition reflects his outstanding performance and key contributions during 2025.

The Leadership Excellence Award was presented to Yuzna Naseem, Head of Property, acknowledging her impactful leadership and role in advancing operational efficiency within the Properties and Administration Division.
In addition to individual honors, BML recognized teams and departments across multiple categories, including Outstanding Team Achievement, Project Excellence, and Innovation Catalyst, reinforcing the bank’s emphasis on collaborative success and innovation.

A key highlight of the evening was the CEO’s Award for Outstanding Achievement, presented to five senior leaders for their strategic contributions to the bank’s long-term performance. The recipients were Moosa Munsif Ahmed, Husham Saeed, Rashfa Jaufar, Hassan Shaam, and Adly Ahmed Didi, all of whom were credited with delivering measurable impact across core business functions and strategic initiatives.
Addressing employees, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef described 2025 as a landmark year in the bank’s 43-year history. He noted that the institution achieved its strongest performance to date, driven not only by financial success but also by its expanding role in supporting national economic development.

He emphasized that the bank’s progress is rooted in the dedication and professionalism of its workforce, adding that the awards celebrate individuals and teams whose efforts have shaped a milestone year and continue to guide the institution’s future direction.
A total of 38 awards were distributed during the event, reflecting a broad recognition of excellence across the organization.
As continues to expand its footprint and services, the institution reaffirmed its commitment to developing local talent. With over 99 percent of its workforce comprising Maldivians, BML remains one of the country’s largest employers and a central pillar in driving inclusive economic growth.
