By Ahmed Ashraf Published July 17, 2025

Ooredoo Maldives, in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, has officially opened registrations for Ooredoo Masrace 2025—an eagerly anticipated national fishing event that blends competitive spirit with the rich maritime heritage of the Maldives.

Set across two scenic islands, the Masrace series will kick off in K. Huraa on 22 August 2025, followed by the second event in Sh. Funadhoo on 29 August 2025. The initiative aims to bring together fishing enthusiasts, seasoned captains, and spirited teams for a celebration of traditional fishing, community camaraderie, and cultural pride.

Registrations are now open from 17 July and will close at 23:59 on 30 July 2025. Teams of 12, including captains and officials, can sign up through the official registration portal at https://ore.do/masrace2025.

From youthful newcomers to veteran fishers, the event fosters unity and joy, echoing the importance of the ocean in Maldivian identity.
