A Beginner’s Guide to Using PayPal Through mFaisaa

By Hussain Shinan Published 8 hours ago

With PayPal now officially available in the Maldives through Ooredoo Fintech’s mFaisaa digital wallet, thousands of freelancers, online entrepreneurs, content creators and businesses now have a new way to access international payments.

The integration allows users to link their PayPal accounts directly to mFaisaa, making it easier to manage PayPal funds and transfer money between the two platforms without relying on traditional methods.

For many Maldivians who earn income from overseas clients, digital platforms and online marketplaces, the introduction of PayPal marks a significant step forward in accessing the global digital economy.

How to Link PayPal to mFaisaa

Users can connect their PayPal account to mFaisaa in just a few minutes through the mFaisaa mobile application.

To begin, open the mFaisaa app and select the PayPal card displayed on the home screen. From there, tap the option labelled “Link PayPal Account”.

Users will then be directed to PayPal’s login page, where they can sign in using their existing PayPal credentials. After logging in, PayPal may require users to verify their identity through a one-time password sent via SMS or through the PayPal mobile application.

Once verification is completed, users will be asked to review and accept the terms and conditions governing the integration. After accepting the agreement, the PayPal account will be successfully linked to mFaisaa.

Upon completion, users will be able to view and access their PayPal balance directly through the mFaisaa application.

How to Transfer Money from mFaisaa to PayPal

The service also allows users to add funds from their mFaisaa wallet to their PayPal account.

To make a transfer, users should open the PayPal section within the mFaisaa app and select the “Top Up” option. After entering the desired amount, the transaction details can be reviewed before confirming the transfer.

Once the transaction is approved, the funds will be transferred to the linked PayPal account and the updated balance will be reflected within the application.

How to Withdraw Money from PayPal to mFaisaa

Users can also transfer money from their PayPal account back into their mFaisaa wallet.

To do this, open the PayPal card in the mFaisaa app and select the “Withdraw” option. After entering the amount to be withdrawn, users will be required to review the transaction details and confirm the transfer using a one-time password sent to their registered mobile number.

Following confirmation, the funds will be credited to the user’s mFaisaa wallet.

Expanding Access to International Payments

The introduction of PayPal through mFaisaa is expected to benefit a wide range of users, including freelancers, remote workers, content creators, software developers and small businesses that regularly receive payments from overseas.

For years, access to PayPal has been one of the most requested digital financial services in the Maldives. The new integration provides users with a more convenient way to manage international transactions while reducing barriers to participating in the global digital marketplace.

As digital commerce continues to grow, the availability of PayPal through mFaisaa is expected to create new opportunities for Maldivians earning income online and engaging with international customers and platforms.
