Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Hon. Ali Ihusaan, reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the nation’s frontline services as he met with Maldives Immigration officers at a special ceremony held Wednesday night.
In his keynote address, the Minister acknowledged the dedication of Immigration staff while directly engaging officers to address their workplace challenges. He emphasized the government’s determination to resolve long-standing issues and to ensure that every officer is empowered to serve the public with excellence and pride.
Controller General CP (Retd) Ahmed Faseeh welcomed the Minister’s proactive leadership, noting that his presence reflected the government’s genuine appreciation for Immigration staff. Deputy Controller Ahmed Ashfan, senior officials, and a large number of officers also participated in the event, underscoring its national importance.
The ceremony further highlighted ongoing service transformation programs under the banners Serve with a Smile, Integrity First, and Uphold Humanity. As part of this effort, customer service strategist Mr. Masood Ali, Founder of Empowering All, delivered a dynamic session focused on elevating service culture and strengthening officer–public engagement.
A major highlight of the evening was the official launch of Immigration Insights, a new public information platform introduced by Minister Ihusaan. Designed to dispel common misconceptions and provide timely updates, the program is set to begin streaming this September, giving citizens and travelers unprecedented access to accurate, reliable information on immigration services.
By combining policy vision with grassroots engagement, Minister Ihusaan continues to drive forward the administration’s mission to modernize institutions, empower frontline workers, and deliver world-class public service for all Maldivians.
