Visit Maldives launches centralized Events Calendar to boost tourism engagement

By Ahmed Ashraf Published September 7, 2025

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), operating under the brand Visit Maldives, has unveiled The Events Calendar, a digital platform designed to showcase festivals, sporting activities, cultural celebrations, and entertainment events across the nation.

Positioned as a one-stop hub for both locals and international visitors, the calendar highlights the Maldives’ vibrant year-round offerings—from chef residencies and surfing festivals to wellness retreats and football clinics. Stakeholders including resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards, and island councils are encouraged to list their events, enabling broader promotion and visibility.

According to Visit Maldives, the initiative supports the destination’s shift toward experiential and adventure-driven tourism. Visitors will be able to filter listings, book directly, and even access free community events through the platform. This interactive approach aims to strengthen the Maldives’ position as a dynamic, world-class tourism hub while diversifying the traditional “sun, sand, and sea” offering.

The platform launch reflects MMPRC’s wider strategy of leveraging digital marketing to enhance global reach. The corporation has representation across six key international markets and continues to secure accolades for the Maldives’ unique tourism appeal. With The Events Calendar now live, the organization is calling on industry partners to collaborate in keeping the Maldives at the forefront of global travel trends.

The Events Calendar is accessible at events.visitmaldives.com.
